Now operating as a sole trader with a focus on China. Until August 2026 Head of Trade and Investment, South China, starting that role in October 2022 with a wider remit covering automotive, advanced manufacturing and chemicals across China, leading a team of 20 in five different locations (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Wuhan). Previously Counsellor and Director for Trade and Investment at the British Embassy in Moscow from March 2019 - October 2022. Prior to that assignment, Political Counsellor at the British Embassy in Baghdad.

Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy, Manila, from August 2011 – July 2015 and Director of Trade and Investment at the British High Commission, Kuala Lumpur from 2007-2011.

Also served in Shanghai, Dubai, Washington, D.C., Accra and Brussels.
